XFE SCADA

Simplify, connect, and monitor your turbine systems while increasing AEP

XFE SCADA is a fast, flexible, and reliable supervisory control and data acquisition system (SCADA) tailored for distributed wind and hydrokinetic turbines. The XFE SCADA connects and monitors signals from your power conversion equipment, actuators, and sensors such that turbines can share equipment and data. A single XFE SCADA is capable of performing high-speed, high-complexity aerodynamic control of up to four turbines simultaneously. For deployments with more than four turbines, multiple XFE SCADA’s can be linked together to achieve the same functionality at larger scales.

The XFE SCADA detects and responds to system faults to ensure safe and reliable operation at maximum availability. Using advanced IoT functionality, you can monitor the performance and health of your assets in real-time. Dual web interfaces cater to both OEMs and end-users. An OEM web interface allows you to monitor your fleet and proactively deploy or recommend maintenance, increasing customer satisfaction and AEP. The customer web interface allows end-users to monitor their investment status and energy generation.

Example of a complex instance of the XFlow Power Conversion System (Patent No. US11791634B2) coupling multiple energy assets on a single DC bus

XFlow Power Conversion System

XFlow Energy has developed a modular, low-cost approach to power conversion designed specifically for renewable energy systems using wind or hydrokinetic turbines. XFlow includes complimentary licenses for this patented (Patent No. US11791634B2) to OEMs who sign up for the XFE SCADA software subscription. We also offer paid licenses to OEMs with their own SCADA solutions.

This flexible power conversion architecture enables turbine designers to leverage readily available, low-cost, UL 1741-SB certified inverters. By utilizing inverters from the solar industry which are manufactured on a mass scale, the approach mitigates supply chain risks and eliminates concerns related to the ever-evolving certification landscape.

Key Benefits

  • Utilizes solar inverters that are pre-certified to the grid-connection standards your product needs, e.g. UL 1741-SB

  • Multiple turbines can be configured on a common DC bus, allowing for significant savings for multiple turbine configurations

  • Paired with the XFE SCADA, you will have significantly enhanced control authority over your turbine and groupings of turbines.
